Description
There aren’t many places that symbolize the American West quite as well as Canyonlands National Park and Mesa Arch. This iconic sandstone arch sits above a drop of well over 100 feet to the canyon floor below. It has become famous for the amazing view it provides of the sunrise and the La Sal mountains to the east. I arrived two hours before sunrise to make sure I could get the exact composition I wanted for this image and was the third person there! The mesa arch is extremely popular to photograph meaning you better get there early if you want a good spot for the sunrise!
