Indian Summer

Description

Indian Summer is a view of the iconic lower Antelope Canyon on the Navajo Reservation near Page, Arizona. This slot canyon is the most visited slot canyon in the world and you have to book a tour with a native American American tour guide to visit the canyon. The slot canyon was formed by wind and water coming down and eroding the soft sandstone on its way to Lake Powell. The best time to visit the canyon is in the middle of the day which is a rare occurrence for photography lovers. Usually, the middle of the day provides the harshest light and reduces the quality of your images, but in the slot canyon light is so scarce that you need direct light to trickle into the canyon.

Without the ability to book specialized photography tours, this means I had to really time my images to not get any of the other visitors in my images. Moving quickly and understanding the light of the canyons played a huge roll in what I was able to capture while visiting.
