Starry Starry Night

Starry Starry Night captures some of my favorite things to photograph, a prominent mountain and the heavens above. Deep in the Colorado Rockies lies Lone Eagle Peak, a mountain of solid granite outstretched from the rest of the Indian Peaks range. With the tranquil lake at her feet and the stars in her crown, Lone Eagle peak is a sight to behold. I traversed the continental divide and camped near the lake for two days to capture this image. The trek to the base of the mountain was over 15 miles round trip and had over 4 thousand feet of gain. Being rewarded with clear skies that night and a successful summit the following morning made all the miles melt away from my memory.
