Artesonraju Rising

Description

Artesonraju Rising is an image I captured deep inside the Cordillera Blanca mountain range. The Cordillera Blanca is famous for its towering 20,000 ft tall peaks and perfectly clear nights. I took advantage of this on a chilly winter’s night after an expedition to the famous Alpamayo. Scrambling up to a glacier lake above base camp, I looked across the valley to see the moon rising slowly, illuminating the perfectly symmetrical mountain that is Artesonraju.
