My Red Tent

My Red Tent is one of my favorite images. It shows just what you can accomplish with a little planning and some good morning light. I had hiked the Quiraing Circuit on the Isle of Skye, Scotland the previous day, scouting out where would be the best view for the sunrise the following morning. I found this amazing flat spot right near the edge of the cliff that overlooked the entire Trotternish ridge and marked it in my maps as the spot to be. That night I hiked my gear and tent up the circuit one more time to get a few hours of sleep and then photograph the sunrise. My small one-man tent shone out against the world of green basking in the first light of the day. Getting up for sunrise is always worth it.
